We first got involved in adventure
travel in 1972, and realized the success hinged entirely on the quality
of a program's itinerary and its guides.
Adventure travel has indeed grown by leaps and bounds over the last several decades. Many inexperienced companies have jumped on the adventure travel bandwagon and figured they could cash in on the craze, even if they had no prior experience. Competition has gotten intense and many cut corners on good programs, while designing poor itineraries that
made more profit. This resulted in bad experiences for the customer.
We are experts on the areas where we operate. We were the first in many areas of South and Central America to begin adventure travel operations.
Our programs are designed to be entertaining, informative, and relaxing. Even our most strenuous treks are designed with this in mind. Our guides are the best in their field.
In many areas, we own and operate our own facilities, and do not use 3rd parties to carry our adventures for us. We feel this is critical because it means we have done our home work, and made the investments called for to be a part of the community. We are the communities, not the outsiders who have to bring in outside guides and rely on existing infrastructures. It reflects the level of belief and commitment we have to our programs.
EarthQuest Trust 501C3 is our non-profit organization (501C3) which has very specific goals and targets for ecological growth. We have our own in-house non-profit, so we can direct and manage the proceeds. This is not affiliated with any other Trust or non-profit so to maintain its ideals.
